This is the bus which took us to Kayseri from Ankara...Turkey's bus system is very efficient and cheap...Most if not all of the buses are luxury Mercedes Travego...large comfortable seats and cable tv on the move!

This is the slice of cake, moist towelette and tea given throughout the trip.

Lunch at grandma's house...Pilav(rice), Bamya (Okra casserole), Helva (Tahini dessert) and Turkish Pide (bread)..looks awesome doesn't it?

This is my favourite Turkish pastry...it has raw sugar and Tahini ( sesame seed paste) all throughout it, topped with crushed walnuts! Perfect as a breakfast dessert!

Turkish Fanta...Tastes the same but comes in Orange and Mardarin flavours! Oh and there is a family size 2.5L and 3L versions!....they also come in 250ml (glass), 330ml (can), 600ml (PET), 1L, 2L versions (as with all Coca Cola varieties)

Something you don't see in Aus! Chokella by Nestle...way better than Nutella...YUMMM! It's like 4 Turkish liras which equates to about $3.2o..cheap!

Man selling Simit on the street in front of my grandma's apartment block...Simit is a circular Turkish baguette baked with sesame seeds..almost like a Turkish Donut....so yum and fresh every morning!

Sound & Vision

Hey guys! Just wanted to share something I read in the National Geographic Mag...A NG photographer John Stanmeyer once said "Photographs create sounds to the mind, and sounds produce images in our consciousness"..."The two have a brilliant dance together"....He outlines the importance of our senses of vision and hearing and how they allow us to perceive the world around us...it makes so much sense! Good on ya John!

My First Post

Well, here goes nothing...Welcome! I started this blog to share my pixels with friends, family and the world. I hope I'll have the discipline to regularly post images in this space. However, this may be difficult with my varying study patterns at university.

What will these images be about? Mostly anything and everything that I may find interesting enough to share with you...Hope you enjoy!

Here is my first few million pixels!

I took this picture this morning just outside my house. Goes to show how something we take for granted, can be appreciated once captured by a camera.
